Amight / may + V1: olasılık
Bir şeyin olabileceğini ama emin olmadığımızı anlatmak için might ya da may + yalın fiil kullanılır. Anlamları çok yakındır: "-ebilir, belki".

Bmight not / may not
Olumsuz olasılık: "… olmayabilir". Kısaltma mightn't seyrektir; may not kısaltılmaz.

CSoru ve izin
Olasılık sorularında might yerine çoğu zaman Do you think … will …? ya da Is it possible that …? kullanılır. May I …? ise resmî bir izin isteğidir.

Bilim insanları kesin olmayan bulguları may / might / could ile yazar. YÖKDİL bu "temkin" ifadelerini sık sorar.

YÖKDİL ipucu"suggest, indicate, possibly, likely" gibi sözcüklerle birlikte may / might gelir; "prove, show clearly, certainly" ile kesin yapı gelir.
